Legal Authority: Board of Supervisors Resolution No. 79-325, June 4, 1979, and Health and Safety Code, ยง1572.5, and Resolution No. 84-424, dated September 24, 1984 (when 16 members were appointed. This implies, pursuant to below, that at least 16 vacancies exist).
Membership: Members of the Council shall hold office for four-year terms. Upon expiration of the terms of office of members of the Council, the Board of Supervisors shall appoint their successors, who may be the members whose terms have expired. Members whose terms have expired, shall, nevertheless, continue to serve and act until their successors are appointed. The Board of Supervisors may remove any member at any time for good cause and fill the vacancy as provided in paragraph 3 hereof. "Good Cause" shall include, but is not limited to, continued failure to meet reasonable Council requirements for attendance at Council meetings.
Duties: Review and evaluate all applications for State licensing of Adult Day Health Care operations at the local level, submitting appropriate recommendations based upon State regulations, and also serve as advocate for Adult Day Health Care services for the benefit of the failure and at risk of institutional care on behalf of the elderly.
