Legal Authority:
The Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District Board was created pursuant to Section 95100 of the Public Utilities Code. Formed by vote of the people on November 8th, 1966; Board of Supervisors Resolution No. 66-587.
Membership:
The Board consists of five (5) members; two (2) directors by County, and two (2) by City Council; all four select the fifth member.
Term:
The Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District Board members serve four (4) year terms.
Duties:
Manages transit district in the Santa Barbara metropolitan area in order to meet the public transit problem of the area.
Meeting Date and Location:
The Board meets at 8:30 AM every other Tuesday at 550 Olive Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101
