Membership:
The Agricultural Advisory Committee appoints twelve members. Composition shall include one appointee by each member of the Board of Supervisors (5) and one member from each of the following groups (7) to be ratified by the Board:
1) Santa Barbara County Flower and Nursery Growers Association;
2) Central Coast Wine Grape Growers;
3) Santa Barbara County Farm Bureau;
4) Grower-Shipper Vegetable Association;
5) Santa Barbara County Cattlemen's Association;
6) California Strawberry Commission/Santa Barbara Strawberry Growers;
7) California Women for Agriculture.
Term:
The term of office for a member of the AAC is four years. Members may be reappointed to additional terms with no limit to the number of terms a member can serve. However, the term of an appointee of a member of the Board of Supervisors shall end at the expiration of the term of that individual Supervisor.
Duties:
The duty of the AAC is to provide advice to the Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission, and other County departments on matters related to agriculture. The AAC may review matters that have agricultural resource issues.
Meeting Date and Location:
The Committee meets the First Wednesday of every month from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Farm Bureau office, 180 Industrial Way, Buellton, CA 93427.
