Legal Authority:
The District Board of Trustees was established pursuant to Resolution No. 92-503, dated September 8, 1992; which consolidated Santa Barbara, Santa Maria Valley and Cuyama Resource Conservation Districts.
Current membership appointed in lieu of election pursuant to Public Resources Code §9314. Minute Order dated September 19, 1995. (95-19,804)
Membership:
The Cachuma Resource Conservation District Board of Trustees consists of nine (9) members.
Term:
The District is required to determine by lot which five directors will serve four-year terms and which four will serve two-year terms, pursuant to Elections Code §10505.
Duties:
Considers issues regarding soil, water and land conservation in the Cachuma Resource Conservation District which includes all territory within Santa Barbara County. It also includes certain lands in San Luis Obispo County and Kern County which were previously within the boundaries of the Santa Maria Valley Resource Conservation District and Cuyama Valley Resource Conservation Districts.
Meeting Date and Location:
The Board of Trustees meets the second Thursday of each month beginning at 1:00 P.M.; location varies. Currently, as of January 2007, meeting location is Swiss Chalet Restaurant, 516 N. Broadway, Santa Maria, CA 93454.
