Legal Authority: County Code Article II, Chapter 7, ยง7-3, Ordinance #2580 adopted in 1974. Reactivated by Minute Order dated July 9, 1991.
Membership: The Board of Supervisors shall appoint an animal health and population control committee which shall include at least one representative of the Santa Barbara Humane Society, county veterinary associations, county kennel clubs, county cat clubs and such other members of the general public as the board may seem appropriate.
Term: Open
Duties: 1) Acts as liaison between Director of Animal Health and Regulation and animal interest groups.
2) Acts as steering committee for Animal Health and Regulation in areas of Animal Health and Population Control.
Meeting Date & Location: Second Tuesday of each month with meetings alternating between Lompoc, Santa Barbara and Santa Maria.
