Membership:
- Five Regular Members appointed by the Board of Supervisors;
- One At-Large Member (North) representing Third, Fourth and Fifth Districts nominated* by the Advisory Committee;
- One At-Large Member (South) representing First and Second Districts nominated* by the Advisory Committee;
- One Regular Member nominated* by the Advisory Committee and South County Veterans Coordinating Council;
*All nominations shall be approved by the Board of Supervisors.

Term:
Four Years or until a successor is qualified and appointed. The terms shall be staggered so that the current terms shall expire as follows:
1. Board of Supervisor Regular Member appointments from the 1st, 3rd and 5th Districts shall expire on July 1, 2016.
2. Board of Supervisor Regular Member appointments from the 2nd & 4th Districts shall expire on July 1, 2017.
3. Board of Supervisor SCVCC, South-at-Large and North-at- Large appointments shall expire on July1, 2016.

Duties:
1. The mission of this Committee and the Veterans Service program is to ensure that each person obtain entitlement benefits for which they may be eligible.
2. Serve as a liaison with the Veterans Service Officer in the interest or improving and enhancing relationships and coordinating community activities.
3. Study, advise and recommend to the Veterans Service Officer on special problem areas relating to veterans within the Santa Barbara County and Tri-County area as needed.
4. Preserve and strengthen veterans’ affairs within the prescribed area.

Meeting Area and Location:
Regular Meetings shall occur not less than once per calendar quarter, on the third Thursday of the second month of each quarter, at 6:00 p.m. at the Solvang Veterans Memorial Building, 1745 Mission Drive, Solvang, CA.
