Legal Authority:
The Board was created by the Health and Safety Code Sections 2000-2093.
Membership:
The Board consists of five members appointed by the Board of Supervisors; one member appointed from each City within the “Enhanced Service Zone” of the District (i.e., Carpinteria, Santa Barbara, Goleta)
Term:
The membership is Dependent upon protocol of the appointing authority; generally, staggered two- or four-year terms.
Duties:
The Board meets monthly to discuss the administration and operations of the District, which include monitoring the prevalence of vector-borne diseases (such as the West Nile Virus), review of financial statements, discussing potential implementation of new administrative or operational techniques and policies, etc.
Meeting Date and Location:
The Board meets at 2:00 P.M. on the second Thursday of every month at the Hope School District Board Room, unless otherwise noted on the website and posted at the District office.
