Title

Consider recommendations regarding the Approval of the Recommendations for the Issuance of Awards for the Community Recidivism and Crime Reduction Services Grant Program, as follows:

 

a) Accept the allocation of funding from the State Recidivism Reduction Fund in the amount of $50,000.00;

 

b) Approve the recommendations of the Community Corrections Partnership (CCP) to award the Fiscal Year (FY) 2015-2016 Board of State and Community Corrections’ (BSCC) Community Recidivism and Crime Reduction Services Grant Program funds allocated to the County to Good Samaritan Shelter and Community Solutions, Inc. as recidivism and crime reduction service providers;

 

c) Approve and authorize the Chief Probation Officer, or designee, to execute, as follows:

 

i) Agreement for Services of Independent Contractor with Good Samaritan Shelter in an amount not to exceed $25,000.00 through June 30, 2016; and

 

ii) Agreement for Services of Independent Contractor with Community Solutions, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $25,000.00 through June 30, 2016; and

 

d) Determine that the acceptance of funding from the Recidivism Reduction Fund, the approval of the CCP’s recommendations for the award of Community Recidivism and Crime Reduction Services Grant Program funds, and the approval and authorization of the Purchasing Agreements are not the approvals of a project that are subject to environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15378(b)(4), finding that the actions are not a project as they are the creation of government funding mechanisms or other government fiscal activities which do not involve any commitment to any specific project which may result in a potentially significant impact on the environment, and direct staff to file the Notice of Exemption.
