Title

Consider recommendations regarding a First Amendment to the Maddy Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Fund Hospital Payment Agreement with Marian Regional Medical Center (Marian), as follows:

a) Approve, ratify, and authorize the Chair to execute the First Amendment to the Agreement with Marian to increase payment distributions by $115,000.00 to Marian from the Maddy EMS Fund for partial compensation for providing trauma and emergency medical services to patients who do not make payments for emergency medical services which include the homeless, uninsured, or undocumented, for a revised total amount not to exceed $321,000.00, effective January 1, 2023 but which otherwise does not change the term of the Agreement ending December 31, 2026; and

b) Determine that the proposed action does not constitute a “Project” within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), pursuant to Section 15378(b)(4) of the CEQA Guidelines, because it consists of the creation of government funding mechanisms or other government fiscal activities, which do not involve any commitment to any specific project which may result in a potentially significant impact on the environment.
