Title
Consider recommendations regarding Santa Ynez Valley Airport Improvement Program Grant 18 (AIP 18) Project No. 19036 - Award Construction Contract to Remove and Replace Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS); Third District, as follows:
a) Approve the plans and specifications for construction of the Santa Ynez Valley Airport AIP 18 project on file in the General Services Capital Projects office;
b) Approve and authorize the Chair to execute a construction contract in the base amount of $274,815.00 to the lowest responsible bidder, Lee Wilson Electric Company, Inc., subject to the provisions of the documents and certifications as set forth in the plans and specifications applicable to the project and as required by California Law;
c) Authorize the Director of General Services to approve change orders in an amount not to exceed $26,240.75 as authorized under California Public Contract Code Section 20142; and
d) Find that the proposed project falls within the scope of the previously filed Notice of Exemption and is categorically exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to State CEQA Guidelines Section 15302(b), as it consists of replacement of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced.
