Title: Consider recommendations regarding a purchasing Bid Waiver Request for Laboratory Supplies, as follows: a) Authorize the Purchasing Manager to issue a new purchase order to the vendor Hologic, Inc., previously known as Gen-Probe, Inc. (not a local vendor) for laboratory supplies, totaling $150,000.00 for each Fiscal Year 2014-2015, 2015-2016, and 2016-2017 without a competitive bid, pursuant to County Code Section 2-39; and b) Determine that these activities are exempt from California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) review per CEQA Guideline Section 15378(b)(4), since the recommended actions are government fiscal activities which do not involve commitment to any specific project which may result in a potentially significant physical impact on the environment.
