Title
Consider recommendations regarding the construction of County-Wide 2002-03 Measure D Miscellaneous Concrete Repair, Tree Root Pruning and Shielding in Santa Barbara County (Project No. 820491), as follows:
a) Approve plans and specifications for the project;
b) Declare bid proposal submitted by Mendez Concrete, Inc., (Not a Local Vendor) for the project, as non-responsive;
c) Award the construction contract in the amount of $1,040,624.00 to the lowest responsible bidder, Granite Construction Co. (not a local vendor), subject to the provision of documents and certifications, as set forth in the plans and specifications applicable to the project and as required by law;
d) Authorize the chair to execute the construction contract upon return of the Contractor's executed contract documents, and the review and approval of the County Counsel, Auditor-Controller and Risk Manager or their authorized representatives:
e) Approve a contingency fund in the amount of $64,531.20 for the project.
