Title
Consider recommendations regarding construction of the Isla Vista Beach Access Stairway Repair Project, Project No. 862252, Third District, as follows:
a) Approve plans and specifications for the construction of the following three coastal access stairway locations in the Isla Vista area:
i) Southerly terminus of Camino Del Sur
ii) Southerly terminus of Camino Pescadero
iii) Escondido Pass;
b) Award the construction contract in the amount of $571,914.00 to lowest responsible bidder, Cushman Contracting Corporation (a local vendor) 5354 Overpass Road, Goleta, CA 93111 subject to the provisions of documents and certifications as set forth in the plans and specifications applicable to the project, as required under California Law;
c) Authorize the Chair to execute the construction contract upon return of the Contractor's executed contract documents, and the review and approval of the County Counsel, Auditor-Controller and Risk Manager or their authorized representatives; and
d) Approve contingency fund in the amount of $41,095.70 for construction of the following three coastal access stairway locations in the Isla Vista area:
i) Southerly terminus of Camino Del Sur
ii) Southerly terminus of Camino Pescadero
iii) Escondido Pass.
