Title: Consider recommendations regarding construction of 2008/09 Zaca Fire Repair on Santa Barbara Canyon Road, Project No. 810533, Fifth District, as follows: a) Approve plans and specifications for Construction of 2008/09 Zaca Fire Repair on Santa Barbara Canyon Road; b) Award the construction contract in the amount of $359,546.40 to the lowest responsive bidder, Union Asphalt, Inc. (a local vendor), P.O. Box 1280, Santa Maria, CA 93456-1280, subject to the provisions of documents and certification as set forth in the plan's specifications applicable to the project and as required by law; c) Approve and authorize the Chair to execute the construction contract upon return of the Contractor's executed contract documents, the review and approval of the County Counsel, Auditor-Controller, Risk Manager or their authorized representative; and d) Approve a contingency in the amount of $30,477.32 for Construction of 2008/09 Zaca Fire Repair on Santa Barbara Canyon Road.
