Title: HEARING - Consider recommendations regarding Santa Maria Branch Jail hours of operation, Fifth District, as follows: (4/5 Vote required) (EST. TIME: 45 MIN.) a) Discuss the need for expanded operation of the Santa Maria Branch Jail; b) Direct staff to implement an interim plan for expanded hours of operation of the Jail Facility at Foster Road from January 1, 2014 through June 30, 2014; c) Approve Budget Journal Entry No. 0003209 releasing $272,000.00 from the Strategic Reserve to the Sheriff's Office budget to cover the costs of implementation in Fiscal Year 2013/2014; and d) Determine that these activities are exempt from California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) review per CEQA Guideline Section 15061 (b) (3), since it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the activities may have a significant effect on the environment.
