Title: HEARING - Consider recommendations regarding a Report on Criminal Justice and Racial Equity in Santa Barbara County, as follows: (EST. TIME: 3 HR.) a) Receive and file a staff report on current and potential future actions to lower the Average Daily Population in the County's Jail system; b) Receive and file a report on existing and proposed racial equity and diversity initiatives in the County organization; c) Provide other direction as appropriate, including potential process for allocation and use of equity funds; and d) Determine that the action is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) under CEQA Guidelines section 15378(b)(5) because the hearing is an administrative activity that will not result in a direct or indirect physical change to the environment.
