Title: Consider recommendations regarding the approval of a contract for environmental rehabilitation at former encampment sites in Santa Barbara County, using California encampment resolution funding for interim housing, as follows: a) Approve and authorize the Chair to execute a service contract with Channel Islands Restoration (contractor) in the amount of $150,000.00. This contract will provide environmental rehabilitation at former encampment sites throughout the County for a period of approximately fifteen (15) months beginning May 16, 2023, and ending June 30, 2024; and b) Determine that the recommended actions are not the approval of a project that is subject to environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15308, finding that the project is action taken by a regulatory agency, as authorized by state or local ordinance, to assure the maintenance, restoration, enhancement, or protection of the environment where the regu...

Title

Consider recommendations regarding the approval of a contract for environmental rehabilitation at former encampment sites in Santa Barbara County, using California encampment resolution funding for interim housing, as follows:

 

a) Approve and authorize the Chair to execute a service contract with Channel Islands Restoration (contractor) in the amount of $150,000.00. This contract will provide environmental rehabilitation at former encampment sites throughout the County for a period of approximately fifteen (15) months beginning May 16, 2023, and ending June 30, 2024; and

 

b) Determine that the recommended actions are not the approval of a project that is subject to environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15308, finding that the project is action taken by a regulatory agency, as authorized by state or local ordinance, to assure the maintenance, restoration, enhancement, or protection of the environment where the regulatory process involves procedures for protection of the environment.
