Consider recommendations regarding the Bonita School Road Bridge No. 51C-0230 Replacement Project; County Project No. 862367, Fifth District, as follows:

 

a) Approve and authorize the Chair to execute a professional services contract for the bridge foundation design with Earth Mechanics, Inc.(not a local vendor), 17800 Newhope Street, Suite B, Fountain Valley, CA 92708, in the base contract amount of $139,174.42, for professional engineering services for the Bonita School Road Bridge No. 51C-0230 Replacement Project, County Project No. 862367; 

 

b) Authorize the Director of Public Works or designee to approve amendments to the professional services contract with Earth Mechanics, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $9,825.58; and

 

c) Find that the proposed contract does not constitute a “Project” within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality Act pursuant to 14 CCR 15378 (b)(5) (Organizational or administrative activities of governments that will not result in direct or indirect physical changes in the environment), and approve and direct staff to file a Notice of  Exemption on that basis.
