Consider recommendations regarding an Agreement for engineering services with Bengal Engineering, Incorporated, Second District, as follows:

 

a) Approve and authorize the Chair to execute the Agreement with Bengal Engineering, Incorporated in the amount of $70,020.00 for civil engineering services at the South Coast Recycling Center and Transfer Station;

 

b) Approve and authorize the Director of Public Works of designee to approve up to a 10% contingency with Bengal Engineering, Incorporated in an amount not to exceed $7,000.00 for additional efforts within the scope of work that may be required to complete civil engineering services during the term of the Agreement; and

 

c) Find that the proposed action does not constitute a “Project” within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality Act, pursuant to 14 CCR 15378 (b)(5) (Organizational or administrative activities of governments that will not result in direct or indirect changes in the environment), and approve and direct staff to file a Notice of Exemption on that basis.
