Title

Consider recommendations regarding Playground Equipment Procurement, as follows: (4/5 Vote Required)

 

a) Authorize the County Purchasing Agent to procure playground structure replacement materials for Waller Park and waive competitive bidding to obtain matching playground equipment from Miracle Recreation Equipment Co. resulting in efficiencies with part replacement, maintenance, and safety by the County of Santa Barbara pursuant to Santa Barbara County Code Section 2-39;

 

b) Approve Budget Revision Request No. 0004797 in the amount of $64,000.00 establishing appropriations for the purpose of funding the playground equipment procurement and installation; and

 

c) Determine that the above recommended actions are exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to the State Guidelines for the Implementation of CEQA Section 15301, which consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing; Section 15302(c), which consists of replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced; and, 15303, which consists of construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures and installation of small new equipment and facilities in small structures, and direct staff to file a Notice of Exemption on that basis.
