Consider recommendations regarding the acceptance of a Petco Foundation Grant Award for Lifesaving Efforts, as follows: (4/5 Vote Required)

 

a) Approve and ratify the acceptance of a $25,000.00 grant from the Petco Foundation, subject to the conditions set forth in the grant application and the grant approval notification email, to be used for lifesaving measures within Animal Services;

 

b) Approve Budget Revision Request No. 0005155 to establish appropriations for use in Fiscal Year 2017-2018 for “Services and Supplies” and “Miscellaneous Revenue” of $25,000.00 funded by the Petco Foundation; and

 

c) Determine that these activities are not the approval of a project subject to environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15378(b)(4), finding that the action is not a project as it is the creation of a government funding mechanism or other government fiscal activity, which does not involve any commitment to any specific project which may result in a potentially significant physical impact on the environment, and direct staff to file the Notice of Exemption.
