Title: Consider recommendations regarding a Resolution adopting an organ and bone marrow donor policy, as follows: a) Find that granting paid leave to employees who serve as organ or bone marrow donors is in the best interest of the County, and does not amount to a gift of public funds, because it mirrors the requirements in State law for State employees and private businesses with 15 or more employees; b) Adopt a Resolution which adopts an organ and bone marrow leave policy which grants up to 240 hours of paid leave for an employee donating a kidney after using 80 hours of accrued sick leave or vacation, and up to 40 hours of paid leave for an employee donating bone marrow after using 40 hours of accrued sick leave or vacation; and c) Determine pursuant to California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines Section 15378(b)(4) that the above action is a government fiscal activity which does not involve any commitment to any specific project which may result in a potentially significan...

Consider recommendations regarding a Resolution adopting an organ and bone marrow donor policy, as follows:

 

a) Find that granting paid leave to employees who serve as organ or bone marrow donors is in the  best interest of the County, and does not amount to a gift of public funds, because it mirrors the requirements in State law for State employees and private businesses with 15 or more employees;

 

b) Adopt a Resolution which adopts an organ and bone marrow leave policy which grants up to 240 hours of paid leave for an employee donating a kidney after using 80 hours of accrued sick leave or vacation, and up to 40 hours of paid leave for an employee donating bone marrow after using 40 hours of accrued sick leave or vacation; and

 

c) Determine pursuant to California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines Section 15378(b)(4) that the above action is a government fiscal activity which does not involve any commitment to any specific project which may result in a potentially significant physical impact on the environment, and therefore is not a project subject to environmental review.
