Consider recommendations regarding a Civil Engineering Services Agreement with Bengal Engineering, Inc. for the Montecito Trails January 2018 Storm (4353-DR) Bridge Repairs and Replacement, First District, as follows: (4/5 Vote Required)
a) Approve and authorize the Chair to execute the professional services agreement with Bengal Engineering, Inc. (Contractor) in the amount not to exceed $115,110.00 to allow the Contractor to provide civil engineering and surveying services for the Montecito Trails January 2018 Storm (4353-DR) Bridge Repairs and Replacement project;
b) Approve Budget Revision Request No. 006815 to appropriate funding for the civil engineering and surveying services for the Montecito Trails January 2018 Storm (4353-DR) Bridge Repairs and Replacement project funded by Parks revenues; and
c) Determine that the Project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Sections 15301(c) and 15302 of the State Guidelines for the Implementation of CEQA which consist of the repair or minor alteration of existing highways and streets, sidewalks, gutters, bicycle and pedestrian trails, and similar facilities (this includes road grading for the purpose of public safety) involving negligible or no expansion of existing use, and replacement or reconstruction of existing structures where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced, and direct staff to file the CEQA Notice of Exemption on that basis.
