Consider recommendations regarding Accepting Donations of $28,580.00 from the Sheriff’s Benevolent Posse, as follows: (4/5 Vote Required)

 

a) Accept a donation of $20,000.00 from the Sheriff’s Benevolent Posse, a 501(c) (3) organization, for the Sheriff’s Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program;

 

b) Accept a donation of a narcotics trained K9 for specific use in the Custody Operations setting from the Sheriff’s Benevolent Posse with a value of $8,580.00;

 

c) Approve Budget Revision Request No. 0006978 establishing appropriations in the Sheriff’s General Fund of $20,000.00 for the D.A.R.E. program and $8,580.00 for the Sheriff’s Custody Operations K-9; and

 

d) Find that the proposed action does not constitute a “project” under the California Environmental Quality Act because it is within the exception provided by 14 CCR 15378(b)(4) for “[t]he creation of government funding mechanisms or other government fiscal activities, which do not involve any commitment to any specific project which may result in a potentially significant physical impact on the environment.”
