Consider recommendations regarding the Bella Vista Low Water Crossing Replacement; County Project No. 830358, First District, as follows:
a) Approve plans and specifications for the Construction of the Bella Vista Low Water Crossing Replacement, on file in the Public Works Department office;
b) Award the construction contract in the amount of $257,550.00 to the lowest responsible bidder, Schock Contracting Corporation, P.O. Box 61505, Santa Barbara, CA 93160, subject to the provision of documents and certifications, as set forth in the specifications applicable to the project, as required under California Law;
c) Approve the plans and specifications, and authorize the Chair to execute the construction contract for the Bella Vista Low Water Crossing Replacement;
d) Authorize the Director of Public Works or designee to approve changes or additions to the work being performed under the construction contract in an amount not to exceed $26,128.00, plus an additional amount of $15,000.00 for supplemental work items for the Bella Vista Low Water Crossing Replacement, for a total not to exceed authorization of $298,678.00; and
e) Determine the project was found by the Board to be exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act and that the Director of Public Works or designee was authorized to advertise for bids to construct this project on November 6, 2018. A Notice of Exemption was filed on this basis on September 26, 2018, and the proposed action is within the scope of the above referenced Notice of Exemption.
