Title

Consider recommendations regarding Coastal Resource Enhancement Fund Grant Contracts with the Natural History Museum in Santa Maria and Channelkeepers, First, Second, Third, and Fifth Districts, as follows:

 

a) Approve and authorize the Chair to execute a Coastal Resource Enhancement Fund contract with the Natural History Museum in Santa Maria, in the amount of $37,349.00, to upgrade the Museum’s existing coastal exhibits, for the period of April 5, 2022 to February 15, 2023, Second District;

 

b) Approve and authorize the Chair to execute a Coastal Resource Enhancement Fund contract with Channelkeeper, in the amount of $5,000.00 towards a one-year pilot program for a new component of its existing “Watershed Brigade” project, for the period of April 5, 2022 to July 15, 2022, First, Second and Third Districts;

 

c) Approve and authorize the Director of Planning and Development, or designee, to take the following actions for the Coastal Resource Enhancement Fund Contracts:

 

i) Extend performance in accordance with Section 3 for up to, and not to exceed a period of one year, for good cause;

 

ii) Approve project changes in accordance with Section 5, including changes to project descriptions, reduction in the overall project budgets or change in budget items of 10 percent or more; and

 

iii) Terminate the contract in accordance with Section 4 and Section 15 (Section 14 for Contract with Channelkeeper) for failure to provide matching funds/in-kind services; and

 

d) Determine that the allocation of the Coastal Resource Enhancement Fund grant is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15378(b)(5) of the State Guidelines for the implementation of CEQA.
