Title

 

Consider recommendations regarding the Carpinteria Salt Marsh Emergency Dredging Project (23STM1), First District, as follows:

 

a) Approve plans and specifications for the Salt Marsh Emergency Dredging Project (23STM1);

 

b) Award the construction contract for the Carpinteria Salt Marsh Emergency Dredging Project, in the amount of $3,175,961.00 to the lowest responsible bidder Dixon Marine Services, Inc. subject to the provisions of documents and certifications, as set forth in the plans and specifications applicable to the project and as required by law;

 

c) Approve and authorize the Public Works Director or designee to execute the Construction Agreement upon return of the contractor’s executed contract documents, and the review and approval of the County Counsel, Auditor-Controller, and Risk Manager or their authorized representatives;

 

d) Authorize the Public Works Director or designee to approve changes or additions to the work being performed under the Construction Contract, in an amount not to exceed $171,298.05 to complete the work within the scope of the Agreement for the Carpinteria Salt Marsh Emergency Dredging Project; and

 

e) Determine that these emergency actions were found by the Board to be exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to State CEQA Guidelines Section 15269(c) - Emergency Projects. A Notice of Exemption was filed on this basis on February 27, 2023, and the proposed action is within the scope of that Notice of Exemption.
