Title
Consider recommendations regarding a Notice of Request for an Application for the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) one-time Youth Programs and Facilities Grant (YPFG), as follows:
a) Adopt a Resolution approving and ratifying the Grant Application to the BSCC for the one-time YPFG for improvements to the outdoor space at the Santa Maria Juvenile Hall (SMJH);
b) Authorize and ratify the Chief Probation Officer’s application for the YPFG from the BSCC for improvements to the outdoor space at the SMJH;
c) Authorize the Chief Probation Officer, or designee, to execute and submit the grant agreement, in a form substantially similar to the grant terms and conditions and upon review and concurrence of County Counsel, Auditor-Controller, and Risk Manager or their designee if the YPFG is awarded; and
d) Determine that the above actions are government fiscal activities or funding mechanisms which do not involve any commitment to any specific project which may result in a potentially significant physical impact on the environment, and are therefore not a project under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15378(b)(4) of the CEQA guidelines.
